William “Bill” Blanchard, a single practitioner, began practicing law in 1978. He was inspired by his great uncle, Richard T. Rives, who was a Federal Judge in Montgomery, AL during the Civil Rights Era. Bill later went into private practice in 1981, and has been doing business as Blanchard Law Offices for approximately 20 years. Throughout the years, Bill has been recognized for his work as a criminal and family attorney. He was awarded the Clarence Darrow Award by the Alabama State Bar Association for his work on capital murder cases. He was also presented with the Roderick Beddow Award by The Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has served as president of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Alabama Bar Association, and President of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has also been listed in the Super Lawyers publication for a number of years.
