Mr. DeFord attended the University of Washington for one year and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended and graduated from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law of Brigham Young University in 1995. He was a law clerk to the Honorable Guy R. Burningham in Provo, Utah, and to the Honorable Richard T. St. Clair in Idaho Falls, Idaho, before beginning the formal practice of law.
