Since the age of 10, Richard Edinger has lived in Fargo, North Dakota. In 1991, he graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. In January 1996, he graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
