Mr. Doherty was raised in West Hartford, Connecticut, and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1989 from the University of Connecticut, where he majored in economics and was captain of the UConn Lacrosse Team. After graduating from UConn, Mr. Doherty worked as a title and trust officer in the corporate headquarters for First American Title & Trust Co. in Santa Ana, California.
