Bobbi Roquemore is an associate attorney in the firm’s Houston office. Bobbi focuses her practice on the defense of claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA). Prior to joining the firm, Bobbi served a two-year federal clerkship with the Hon. Clement J. Kennington at the United States Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges. Here, she wrote Decisions and Orders and discovery orders for federal workers’ compensation cases arising under the LHWCA, DBA, Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentalities Act (NFIA), and Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA); Black Lung Benefits Act (BLBA); whistleblower cases arising under the Federal Rail Safety Act (FRSA), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), and several other acts; and immigration labor appeals. Bobbi’s experience as a clerk provides her with specific insight regarding the handling of these matters at the OALJ level. Bobbi earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she was the Articles/Symposium Editor of the Loyola Law Review. She also earned a Certificate in International Legal Studies from Loyola. Bobbi served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Elizabeth C. Lanier at the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Court – District 9. Shortly after completing law school, Bobbi was awarded First Place in the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers’ national writing competition. Bobbi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Marquette University. She was a journalist at the Dallas Morning News and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel prior to pursuing her law degree.
